GREENFIELD, Ind. — A record number of Hoosiers are giving thanks for meals from the annual Lisa Muegge Feast of Plenty.
Twenty years ago, a few hundred meals were served at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. On Thursday, more than 6,000 meals were prepared between two locations for Hoosiers on Thanksgiving. That is 1,000 more meals than just one year ago, which was already their highest ever.
"It's clear that people need this help and healing," Joel Hungate, organizer of the Feast of Plenty said. "They need this connection, and we are so blessed that we're in a position where we can all come together on a day like today and make it happen for those folks."
