Strong, gusty winds are expected for New Jersey through Friday with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph as forecasters continue to track the potential for a winter storm early next week.
Winds will increase around midday Friday, with the strongest gusts occurring during the afternoon hours.
While wind speeds will remain below advisory levels, the blustery conditions may cause minor tree damage and scattered power outages, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures will remain below normal, with highs Friday only reaching the low 40s across most of New Jersey, and wind chills making it feel even colder in the teens to low 20s.
Saturday will bring relief from the wind as high pressure builds over the region.
Expect mainly sunny skies with highs in the low 40s and lighter northwest winds ar
