The fire broke out in a highrise building complex near Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard , officials said in a post on social media Thursday evening.
Crews have been fighting the fire since 1:30 p.m., Toronto Fire Services said.

As a precaution, residents from 70 units have been evacuated from seven floors due to carbon monoxide levels, Hewson said, adding that nobody was injured.
The carbon monoxide levels are currently decreasing, he said, but power has been shut down to both buildings.
