A freight train derailed early Thursday afternoon south of the town of Vulcan in southern Alberta.
According to reports, around 34 rail cars left the tracks just after noon near the village of Champion.
CPKC says the majority of the cars involved, 31 hopper cars, were loaded with grain products. Three tanker cars carrying vegetable oil were also affected.
No injuries have been reported. Officials also say no dangerous good have been spilled.
CPKC crews and heavy equipment have been dispatched to the site to begin clean-up operations. The railway company says that the cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
