On Thursday at 7:36 p.m. a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until Friday at midnight for Northern Centre as well as Clearfield, Cambria, Blair, Somerset, Bedford and Fulton counties.

"Widely scattered snow showers and flurries will be across south central Pennsylvania this evening. The activity will become more widespread overnight. While snowfall amounts are expected to be on the light side, the combination of falling temperatures and gusty winds may result in icy spots. Untreated bridges and ramps are often the first surfaces to ice up. Persons traveling this evening and overnight should be alert for a wide range of conditions and slow down in adverse weather conditions," states the weather service.
