ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. — Holiday Valley is gearing up for the ski season as colder temperatures and fresh snow move into the region, setting the stage for the resort’s anticipated opening next Friday, weather permitting.
The resort says an earlier storm provided an opportunity to test its snowmaking system, allowing crews to fire up the guns and ensure everything was working after summer upgrades.
The snowmaking team plans to run the system around the clock in shifts, taking advantage of every hour below freezing so they can have a good opening day, resort officials told 2 On Your Side .
