SAN DIEGO -- Nick Boyd will remember Thursday for awhile, and so will Wisconsin men's basketball fans.

Boyd splashed a career-high 36 points, shooting 4-9 from three-point range, as the Badgers took down the Providence Friars 104-83 in their opening game of the Rady Children's Invitational.

It was an all-around strong performance for Wisconsin. Austin Rapp scored 20, shooting 7-15 from the field, and Nolan Winter posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Badgers controlled the pace of play throughout, constructing massive scoring runs and forcing 14 turnovers. Wisconsin scored 18 points off of turnovers.

Off the bench, Wisconsin saw an impressive performance from Jack Janicki. He was a perfect 3-3 from three-point range. Head coach Greg Gard's son, Issac, also saw play
