SHREVEPORT, La. - The Salvation Army of Northwest Louisiana delivered again for the community, serving about 1,000 meals for Thanksgiving.
Staff and volunteers spent Wednesday prepping meals at the E. Stoner Avenue location. There were walk-up, drive-thru, and home delivery options for those unable to leave their homes.
"Most people call us," said Mike Mackey, Assistant Chief of the Shreveport Fire Department. "Now we get to go visit with the community, drop off a plate, talk to them, and actually see us in a non-emergency situation."
The meals were made possible through the support of several community partners. Taylor's Catering and Restaurant donated 1,000 servings of dressing, and Texas Roadhouse contributed 600 rolls. The North Shreveport Lions Club and Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mi
