ALTON, Iowa (KTIV) - In the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 1, a fire broke out inside a Northwest Iowa home.
It claimed the lives of three students at MOC-Floyd Valley, who were asleep inside.
One of the survivors, Jayce Koob, is now being named a hero.
He ran out of the house and tried to call out for the rest of the kids inside. When he got no response, he jumped on his four-wheeler and drove a mile up the road to wake his neighbors.
His actions are the reason Luke Lancaster is still alive today.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Iowa Hawkeyes will be in Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday, Nov. 28, for the 15th annual Heroes Game.
As part of the rivalry game, citizen heroes from each state are to be recognized.
Fifteen years ago, the Heroes Game was created to honor football traditions
