MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A spokesperson with the Memphis Safe Task Force says there will be no immediate changes to how the task force and National Guard will patrol the city following Wednesday’s attack on National Guard members in Washington, D.C.
The National Guard was deployed to Memphis in late September as part of the multi-agency, crime-fighting operation.
Two West Virginia National Guard members were critically wounded in what U.S. officials are calling an “ambush-style” attack near the White House on Wednesday.
The Trump administration ordered 500 more National Guard members to Washington in response.
