ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A North Georgia police officer suffered a holiday tragedy on Thanksgiving after his Hiram home caught fire.
Officials say there are no injuries, but a long road to repair.
“I ran out to the store to get some last minute stuff, So I can sit down and watch some football, and come back to this‚" said Larry Hodge.
“What’s lost right now is a lot of memories,18 years of memories,” he said.
Hodge said he is thankful his family survived a fire that tore through their home of 18 years.
“Even though I lost this I’m still thankful on this Thanksgiving day that my family got out,” said Hodge.
Inside the home at the time was Hodge’s wife, and their two sons ages 12 21.
