VANDERCOOK LAKE, Mich. (WILX) - Slick road conditions in Jackson County led to multiple slide-offs and at least one crash on Thanksgiving night.

There were long backups Thursday night after at least three cars slid off the road near Vandercook Lake, just south of Jackson.

Authorities have not released any information about the incidents, but News 10 crews at the scene saw several police and emergency vehicles at multiple locations.

The icy road conditions came after temperatures dropped below freezing as the sun went down on Thursday night. Conditions are expected to improve on Friday before another storm system moves in Saturday.

A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect Saturday and Sunday, which are both First Alert Weather Days.
