The South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS) is experiencing a continued surge in demand for its services as the holiday season approaches. Many women and families who rely on the organization are seeking support to ensure a special holiday for their children.

“2025 has proven to be as busy as 2024, particularly the need for our counselling services,” says Liz Gomes,executive director of the not-for-profit organization.

“We offer a wide range of counselling options, including specific services for children and youth, and for victims navigating the criminal court process.”

Despite expanding services, SOWINS continues to maintain waitlists, as the demand for counselling exceeds the capacity of its team.
