Millions of Americans are traveling this week to be with loved ones for Thanksgiving. AAA is estimating that over 81.8 million people are traveling at least 50 miles from home for the holiday.

Here in Tennessee, that counts for nearly 2 million people and is up more than 2% compared to last year.

The Chattanooga Airport welcomed dozens of last minute travelers on Thursday. Many told Local 3 News they did not run into to many hiccups with delays or cancellations.

"I flew from New Orleans to Atlanta and then Atlanta to Chattanooga... I didn't really know what to expect. I've never flown on the holiday, but everything went well," said Isabelle Hanson, a traveler.
