SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - WUBS radio station hosted its 31st annual sweet potato pie contest on Thanksgiving Day, continuing a tradition that has grown from a small affair into a beloved community event.

The contest encourages bakers across the community to showcase their skills in a friendly competition to determine the best sweet potato pie. The event promotes community and togetherness during the holidays.

WUBS stands for We Unite Brothers and Sisters.

“Over these 31 years we’ve seen it bring community together we’ve seen families together, and it gives that person a sense of accomplishment and give them confidence that they can cook and you know it’s a great feeling all around,” said Shane Williams, music director at WUBS.
