Maneuvering through downtown Mount Dora could be a little different in the near future.
The city is set to move forward with changing parts of some downtown streets to one-way.
The city's mayor said they were initially considering a few one-way streets downtown to add more parking spots. But he said when a transportation and traffic specialist took a look, they found a different issue.
"It came back as a safety issue saying that the roads are unsafe as two-ways because there's no room for emergency vehicles to get through and that sort of thing safely," said Mayor James Homich.
In October, Homich said the city council voted to move forward with converting Baker Street between Fifth and Third, Alexander Street between Fifth and Fourth, and Tremain between Fifth and Third to one-way stre
