MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - An Argyle woman crossed another item off her bucket list Thursday morning, being a balloon handler at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Linda Gavigan was one of more than 92 people helping to guide the giant ‘Stuart the Minion’ balloon through the parade route.
The parade stepped off at 8:30 a.m., with Gavigan’s balloon fifth in the lineup.
“It was a great day. The sun was out. It was a beautiful day,” Gavigan said. “It couldn’t have been a better day to be on Stuart The Minion.”
Gavigan says she got involved after meeting a friend, who is a balloon handler, several years ago. That friend invited her to be a part of the experience.
She says it was something that had always been on her bucket list.
