HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An annual tradition trotted through Kapiolani Park Thursday morning, and for thousands, it was their way to earn Thanksgiving dinner.
A sea of runners and walkers pounded the pavement in Waikiki for the 50th running of the Honolulu Marathon Clinic’s Turkey Trot in Paradise .
This year’s event drew an even larger turnout than last year, with 17,075 participants traveling as far as Korea, Japan, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, and Australia.
“We are carrying on the legacy of Dr. Jack Scaff,” said Honolulu Marathon Clinic member Tony Padua. “It’s an opportunity for memories and families and just a great time on Thanksgiving day before the big Thanksgiving feast.”
