A man was fatally shot on Thanksgiving and his brother has been arrested, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 30 block of Marigold Lane shortly after 5:30 p.m., JPSO said in a press release.
There, they found a man shot, lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies determined the victim's brother used a vehicle to flee the scene.
The vehicle was later spotted near Ames and Lapalco boulevards. Deputies say the driver refused to stop and led them on a pursuit up to the 100 block of Jean Lafitte Blvd. There, he fled on foot before being caught and detained.
Deputies say they found a firearm along the path he took while fleeing on foot.
He will be booked with second degree murder.
