An urgent e-scooter warning has been issued to Glasgow parents after a number of injuries to children including major head trauma, broken femurs and lacerations. Medical experts and police are urging mums and dads to think about the dangers of buying e-scooters and e-bikes ahead of Christmas.
It comes following an "alarming" rise in the number of injuries. Between May and October this year, more than 30 children needed emergency care at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC) in Glasgow, which is up by more than 700% compared to the four cases during the same period of 2024.
There was a substantial amount of serious injuries suffered by children this year included major head trauma, broken femurs, chest injuries, and severe lacerations, with those treated aged between seven and 15. I
