Millions of Brits are sticking to household 'hacks' they aren't even sure work. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that nearly half question whether their habits actually do the job, but do them regardless. These include watering the grass at night, using vinegar as a universal cleaner , and placing conkers on windowsills to spook spiders.
