The future of Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate has become a bit more certain.

The contract of the Liverpool defender is due to expire in the summer and the 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid , potentially following in the footsteps of former team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold who made the switch last summer.

However, according to David Ornstein from The Athletic, Real have now clarified their position on a potential deal. In a post on X, he stated: "Real Madrid considered Ibrahima Konate but inform Liverpool they have no interest in signing France int'l."
