Britain is bracing for icy conditions next week with snow forecast for the South West and temperatures tumbling to -2C.

Latest weather maps from WXCHARTS, using MetDesk data, suggest the brutal conditions are expected from December 6.

Snow is forecast to blanket Devon, Warwickshire, Norfolk, Lancashire, the Scottish Highlands, and North Wales at 6pm next Sunday, December 7.

Temperatures are also due to nosedive next Sunday, with Scotland bearing the brunt of the cold snap.

Parts of the Highlands and Scottish Borders could see the mercury drop to -2C - considerably chillier than December's usual average of 6C, reports Devon Live .
