One person was killed Thursday evening after a vehicle lost control on Interstate 79 in Washington County due to icy conditions.
The crash happened about 5:45 p.m. on the overpass connecting I-79 northbound to I-70 westbound, just east of Washington.
The Washington County coroner said a driver lost control due to icy conditions and crashed on the overpass.
The coroner said the front passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. They were not immediately identified.
The driver and a rear passenger were sent to area hospitals, and the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
Crews had to extricate the three people in the vehicle as they were trapped inside after the crash, the South Strabane Township Department of Fire & Emergency Management said in a news releas
