EDDIE Howe says "all options are on the table" as he weighs up his Newcastle United goalkeeper dilemma.

But the head coach again jumped to the defence of under-fire Nick Pope, saying the goalkeeper's shot-stopping has been "incredible" so far this season.

Pope has had an extremely mixed campaign between the posts for the Magpies . The 33-year-old kept eight clean sheets in 14 games at the start of the season and that form led to a recall to the England squad, his first selection since Thomas Tuchel took charge.

But the former Burnley keeper has also made a string of high-profile errors, the most recent of which came on Tuesday night when he inexplicably charged from his area and gifted Marseille an equaliser in the Champions League, with the French side going on to win 2-1.
