ATLANTA — A former Georgia Bulldog basketball player pulled off an unbelievable last-ditch comeback for Lithuania in a European game Thursday, scoring three straight three-pointers for nine points in 13 seconds and a one-point win.
Ignas Sargiūnas, who played for UGA for one season in 2018-19 , and Lithuania were playing Great Britain in a FIBA World Cup qualifying game. They were down 87-80 with a tick more than 13 seconds left — the game seemingly pretty much over.
But Sargiūnas hit a three with 10 seconds to go, then Lithuania fouled and Britain hit one free throw to make it 88-83. Still long odds. Sargiūnas took the inbound pass, drove down the court and launched again, hitting a second three to make it 88-86 with 3.5 seconds left.
Still , Lithuania wouldn't have had much of any
