Southeastern Louisiana finished as the Southland Conference runner-up in 2025 and the Lions will be playing a home game to start the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs.
Southeastern will host a first-round playoff game at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond as the No. 16 seed, and a matchup against Illinois State is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The last postseason trip for Southeastern came in 2022, which included an opening-round win at home over Idaho.
A 9-3 record, including a 7-1 mark in the Southland, led to Southeastern hosting Illinois State, the No. 17 seed in the 24-team FCS bracket. The winner will face No. 1 seed North Dakota State, which has a first-round bye, in the second round.
