Northern parts of the United States are seeing colder temperatures following Thanksgiving after record-breaking heat hit many parts of the South last week.
But the country could be in for shockingly cold weather soon as the polar vortex creeps down from the North Pole and across large swaths of the country.
But for the Deep South, it will likely catch a break.
National temperature outlooks show that while large portions of the country are headed toward below-normal temperatures in early December, Georgia is among the few regions expected to run warmer than average as November ends.
According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center map, Georgia is highlighted in "near or above normal" temperatures for the period of Nov. 28 - Dec. 4.
