As responsible pet owners, it’s important to ensure that we take good care of our canine companions during the winter months. The American Kennel Club offers the following tips for a safe season.
Consider window drafts. Smaller dogs and dogs with thin coats are easily affected by drafts in your home. To keep a warm surface available for your pet, cover any uncarpeted areas with blankets or pads, as tiled and uncarpeted floors will get cold easily. You may also consider purchasing thicker bedding for your dog.
Don’t leave your dog outside. Dogs, just like humans, can get hypothermia and frostbite, so limit the amount of time your dog
