New Jersey could see the first widespread snow of the season on Tuesday from a winter storm that could include a wintry mix or change to rain to parts of the state.

Current forecasts suggest a mix of snow and rain along the Jersey Shore transitioning to all rain, while inland areas may see snow changing to a rain and snow mix, according to the National Weather Service.

“The greater potential for impacts from any snowfall accumulations will be northwest of the I- 95 corridor, and especially near and north of the I-78 corridor,” the weather service said, noting the uncertainty.

The weather service stressed considerable uncertainty with the exact track of the coastal system.
