PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - An Altavista man died from his injuries in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Virginia State Police.

On Thursday evening, November 28, 2025, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Level Run Rd., a little east of Moods Rd. in Pittsylvania County.

Troopers identified the driver as 36-year-old Corey Deangelo Davis of Altavista; he was found injured at the scene and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, according to VSP.

Troopers say Davis was traveling west on Level Run Rd. when his Chevy Traverse ran off the left side of the street, going down an embankment, and hit trees.

Davis was transported to a hospital and later died due to his injuries, said troopers.

Investigators say they believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
