BLACKDUCK — Mary Larsen is keeping it local. She is the new owner of the Anderson Fabrics Quilt Shop , and she is no stranger to the Blackduck community.
Larsen started working for Anderson Fabrics 34 years ago and moved to the company’s outlet store in 2012. The business that was founded in 1980 by Ron Anderson was sold to The Shade Store in 2021, and when the New York-based company announced early this year that it was shutting down operations in Blackduck, the future of the plant and store was in jeopardy. More than 100 employees lost their jobs in April.
