Local officials report that a ransomware attack successfully infiltrated the village of Golf Manor's internal computer network.

A summary of the attack that was described in notes from the meeting describes the ransomware as having infiltrated and encrypted the village's computer systems, rendering them inaccessible to administrators.
All of the village's stored data backups were also said to have been impacted, causing officials who rely upon the network to be unable to perform regular operations.
Council members are set to reconvene in December to discuss the possibility of paying the ransom.
