The Riverside Garden Club has been busy over the past month on two important and ongoing community endeavors. Stormy weather on October 30 did not prevent members of the Club from showing up bright and early on Halloween morning for the winterization of the Riverside Train Station Gardens. Ten members of RGC arrived at 9:30am, with rakes and gardening sheers in hand, ready to go. The gardens cover both the south and north sides of the train station and include a Pollinator, Japanese and Native Garden.

The RGC, one of the oldest garden clubs in New England, petitioned the New York and New Haven railroads for permission to beautify the Riverside Railroad Station back in 1920 and have been maintaining the gardens ever since.
