COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —

The city of Council Bluffs declared a snow emergency as the first major snowfall of the season is expected to blow through parts of Nebraska and Iowa over the holiday weekend.

The snow emergency in Council Bluffs will go into effect at 7 p.m. on Friday and will remain in effect until 7 a.m. on Sunday.

This will ban parking on certain emergency snow routes.
