An assistant Macomb County prosecutor known for not only his legal work but also handling a courtroom comfort canine is leaving for Oakland County.
Mark Laws, who has worked at the Mount Clemens-based office for over four years, will leave next week to work at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, county Prosecutor Peter Lucido announced in a press release Tuesday.
“Mark Laws has been an outstanding prosecutor,” Lucido said in the release. “His skill, dedication, and compassion strengthened our office and ensured justice for countless victims. And Peanut’s comforting presence has helped ease the trauma many families face when entering the courtroom.
“We are grateful for Mark’s service and wish him nothing but success in Oakland County.”
