EAST ROCKHILL – Blake Landherr was in the right spot to make the defensive play the Pennridge football was looking for in a tight, cold Thanksgiving battle with Quakertown.
“I know the quarterback’s good scrambling and stuff so stayed back a little bit, just watching ‘em go roll around and stuff,” the sophomore linebacker said. “And then next thing you know I saw a ball coming.”
Landherr intercepted a pass by Panthers quarterback Brady Martin over the middle then charged down the right side on the return to set the host Rams up at the Quakertown 13 with 8:58 remaining in the fourth quarter.
“I was trying to watch the receivers coming in and out and ball came to me,” Landherr said. “Came right up in my hands and ran up the field.”
Two plays later, Pennridge extended its 17-14 lead to 10
