A Georgia pastor was fired after being arrested for allegedly beating a 15-year-old with a power cord.
Kenneth McFarland was arrested by the Stockbridge Police Department for second-degree cruelty to children on Nov. 10 and booked into the Henry County Jail, according to jail records. The 2819 Church in Atlanta, which has more than 1.4 million followers on YouTube, said McFarland was immediately suspended following his arrest and dismissed from the staff on Nov. 18.
"As a team, we are deeply disappointed in the circumstances at hand, and grieved for the hurt and pain that was inflicted by someone who carried responsibility in our church," the church said in a statement on social media.
