LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A woman is dead after an early morning house fire in PRP.

Around 2:40 a.m. Friday, the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department was called out to the 7200 block of Alameter Court on reports of a house fire that required a rescue.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the back of the house fully engulfed in flames.

It took approximately 40 firefighters 25 minutes to get the fire under control.

Fire officials say that one woman was pronounced dead on the scene, and no additional injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Louisville Metro Arson.
