Much of Illinois is expected to be blanketed with snow this weekend.
From the Chicago area to Carbondale, the Prairie State is set to see some precipitation, with multiple areas scheduled to be under a Winter Storm Warning.

Central Illinois
Parts of central Illinois are expected to be hit with upwards 15" of snow.
Several counties will be under a Winter Storm Warning from midnight tonight to 6 a.m. Sunday.
The higher amounts of snow are predicted closer to the Illinois 74 corridor, like in Galesburg, Peoria, Lacon, and Macomb, according to the National Weather Service.
Springfield is predicted to see five to eight inches.
Heavy snow will begin overnight Friday.
