PHILADELPHIA, New York (WWNY) - Science classes across New York can expect to see some changes over the next few years after a new amendment from the Board of Regents.
“As our climate changes, we end up getting more and more lake effect snow.”
In Indian River High School science teacher Barry Dusharm’s classroom, discussions of topics like climate change are a regular occurrence.
But following new legislation from the New York State Board of Regents, these conversations will start happening even earlier than high school.
“As a science teacher, I approach climate change as nothing more than a set of numbers. Anybody that looks at a thermometer, looks at data, can see that temperatures are coming up,” said Dusharm.
