VINA — The historic Lassen Steakhouse on Highway 99 was damaged by an early morning fire Friday, but quick work by firefighters saved the building from total destruction.
Fire crews were dispatched just before 5 a.m. According to Cal Fire-Tehama County, the first units on the scene estimated about 20-30% of the building was involved.
One of the owners, Jennifer Salisbury, said she and her husband, Wes Salisbury, were told shortly after the fire was contained that the building was “hopefully salvageable.”
Salisbury said the family found out about the fire like everybody else, via Facebook and phone messages. They live nearby and were able to arrive quickly. Salisbury also shared everyone — both family and employees — are fine and safe. • A Lassen Steakhouse sign is damaged from a fire
