Calgary has been slammed by snow and cold weather this week , but the temperature is set to swing, with the city expected to warm up next week.

After several days of chills and slippery sidewalks, this turn should provide some noticeable relief.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) predicts that the cold weather will subside next week, with daytime highs reaching 6°C.

Tonight’s overnight low of -16°C is the coldest temperature predicted over the next week, followed by Saturday night with a low of -14°C. While the chill continues through the weekend, conditions won’t be as harsh earlier in the week.

Things start to improve on Sunday, with the temperature ranging between -5 °C and -1°C. Thankfully, it only goes up from there, with Monday leading the way to above freezing temper
