CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Organizers have announced the full cancellation of the 25th Annual Parade of Lights due to continued inclement weather and safety concerns for participants, volunteers, and spectators.
“This was not an easy decision, but the safety of everyone involved must come first,” organizers said. There will be no rescheduled date for this year’s parade.
While the parade will not take place in 2025, organizers are already looking ahead. The Parade of Lights will return in 2026, promising an even bigger and brighter celebration that will honor 25 years of festive tradition and community spirit.
In the meantime, organizers will still honor Bruce and Mary Knight from the City of Champaign as the 2025 Grand Marshals. The couple is being recognized for their extraordinary dedic
