NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Around 6,000 people have enrolled in WeGo’s Journey Pass, and there will be additional enrollment events.

So far, WeGo has held 40 events to get people signed up for the Journey Pass. According to WeGo, 6,000 Davidson County residents will have three years of free transit access, providing over 92,500 free rides.

WeGo said the 6,000 passes equate to $14.2 million in transportation aid.

Journey Pass is funded through the “Choose How You Move” campaign and is Nashville’s first income-based fare-free transit program.

According to WeGo, SNAP recipients can show up at any of the events. All enrollees must have a valid photo ID that shows Davidson County residency.
