ATLANTA — A motorcyclist is dead after an accident involving a car in southwest Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

On Thanksgiving night, officers responded to 957 Metropolitan Parkway SW, around 8:00 p.m., after receiving reports of an accident between a Ford Fusion and a motorcycle.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 35-year-old male, who drove the motorcycle, unresponsive and later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 48-year-old woman, remained on the scene and did not report any injuries.

Early investigations indicate that the Ford Fusion was traveling north on Metropolitan Pkwy SW and came to a stop to make a left into a driveway when the motorcycle, traveling south, collided with the Ford Fusion.
