KARACHI:

The Anti-Narcotics Force has seized narcotics worth more than $154 million from an LPG container during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan.

According to ANF spokesperson, the operation was launched after credible intelligence indicated that a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating out of Panjgur was preparing to transport a large consignment of narcotics to the Gwadar–Pasni coastline for onward smuggling by sea.

The network was reportedly led by notorious trafficker Ali Jan, and had been under ANF surveillance for an extended period.

The group is believed to traffic drugs originating from Afghanistan and move them through Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, and Pasni before shipping them via speedboats to Yemen, Tanzania, and Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
