A new Magellanic penguin has joined the Aquarium of the Pacific as the public was invited to see the latest addition interact with other penguins, aquarium officials said Friday.

Rosie, the 4-year-old female penguin with a hot pink, orange and yellow band around her flipper, is described to be quiet, curious and playful. She has been adjusting to her new life at the June Keyes Penguin Habitat inside the Long Beach aquarium.

“She seems like she will be a bright addition to the group with her curious and social nature,” said Ashley Loper, aviculturist at the Aquarium of the Pacific. “We are looking forward to getting to know her as she settles in and begins to explore our habitat.”
