KINGSTON — Sister Frances O’Brien walks briskly down a hallway in the Providence Motherhouse. She’s heading towards the chapel — a bright, clean, welcoming space where members of the community and the apostolic congregation worship together every week.
It’s a hallway that she’s walked, likely daily, for the past 60 years. O’Brien, now one of three directors of the congregation, joined The Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul in 1974, when she was 20 years old, heeding a call to a religious life of devotion to helping others experience the providence of God.
