MACON, Ga. — With many taking to the roads for Thanksgiving , newly released traffic and fatality data gives a better look at the effects of one of the year's busiest travel periods.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety (GDPS) has been releasing data of their Thanksgiving travel activity numbers since Thursday.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, there have been no recorded fatalities in Central Georgia by the GDPS.
They said that in all of Georgia, there have been four total fatalities-- ones in Newton County and Dougherty County. The GDPS told 13WMAZ that other two were in DeKalb County and Fulton County.
They were all single fatality accidents, they said. The accident in DeKalb County involved three vehicles, one being a commercial motor vehicle; the accident in Fulton involved a motorcycli
